New website strives to fill gaps of eco-friendly motorsports media coverage

KENT, Wash., August 5, 2010 – WorldCNG, a Kent, Washington based company that specializes in alternative fuel packaging and applications, launched a new website today entitled Renewable Motorsports. The goal of the website is to compile and cover the eco-friendly and alternative fuel efforts of various motorsports and manufacturers; a specialty niche that is currently lacking in media coverage. Along with purpose-built alternative fuel race vehicles, the new website also covers alternative fuel sports vehicles sold to the general public. Among the fuel types featured are compressed natural gas (CNG), full electric power, hybrids, biodiesel, solar, and E85 ethanol.

The new website is the brainchild of Armin H. Ausejo, Marketing Director for WorldCNG. With years of experience in the automotive aftermarket, he feels that the move toward greener fuels in motorsports is a natural progression. “Cars have been running on gasoline for over a century and have been racing against each other for just about as long,” Ausejo explained. “With technology where it is today and the entire world’s desire to pursue cleaner fuels, it was only a matter of time until the motorsports arena would catch up. Now that it looks like it’s on its way to moving toward clean fuel technologies, a need for a website to compile the latest news about this niche market has arisen.”

It is the hope of Ausejo and WorldCNG that this website will also help educate the general public on the advantages of alternative fuels in general and dispel myths about alternative fuels lacking power and torque potential. “CNG-powered race cars are taking class wins in 24-hour endurance races and electric vehicles are dipping into the 10-second range in the quarter-mile,” Ausejo said. “The idea that alternative fuels being inferior to gasoline in terms of making power is a total misnomer.”

In conjunction with the website itself, Renewable Motorsports also launched a Twitter feed and Facebook page, both of which show the latest comments and updates on the website’s sidebar. Visitors will also be able to subscribe to Renewable Motorsports’ RSS feed. Visitors are also able to and encouraged to submit their own alternative fuel motorsports news to be published on the website.
