World CNG Escape


Overview

World CNG, in partnership with IMPCO Automotive, is pleased to offer the first-ever dedicated Compressed Natural Gas mini-SUV on the market: the EPA-certified 2010-2012* Ford Escape 2.5L. Boasting fuel economy greater than 20 mpg and storage for 14 GGE of CNG fuel, the World CNG Ford Escape is ideal for taxi and light cargo delivery fleets.

The configuration uses three Type-3 composite cylinders with a combined weight of 183.5 lbs; this amounts to a post-conversion weight gain of only 70 lbs! With just four inches of underhang from the factory bumper and an unmodified factory exhaust, impact on the rear cargo area is minimal.

No Change in Gas Mileage

The World CNG Ford Escape achieves the same horsepower and fuel economy as the OEM gasoline vehicle, giving it an estimated range of 280 miles. Because CNG fuel costs less than conventional gasoline, fuel savings can exceed $1000 per month! As an added bonus, CNG keeps the air cleaner by drastically reducing emissions of harmful greenhouse gases and other exhaust pollutants. An 11 GGE AWD model is also available, with CARB certification pending.

  • All World CNG natural gas conversions feature electronically controlled solenoid valves on all cylinders and flexible high-pressure tubing. All tank cradles feature stainless steel tank shielding custom manufactured by World CNG.
